Ghana is expected to name a new head coach for the Black Stars within days, as authorities move to conclude a recruitment process aimed at steadying the national team ahead of key international assignments.

The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has indicated that an official announcement could be made as early as Monday, April 13, following weeks of consultations between the Ghana Football Association and shortlisted candidates.

Speaking in an interview with Citi TV, the Minister said the process had reached an advanced stage, with only a few final engagements remaining before a decision is taken.

Ghana is set to formally honour American astronaut Christina Hammock Koch following her historic journey around the Moon, as the government moves to recognise her ties to the country and her role in a landmark space mission.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, disclosed in a statement on Facebook that diplomatic steps are underway for President John Dramani Mahama to honour the astronaut at a mutually agreed time. The gesture, he said, is on behalf of the people of Ghana in recognition of her achievements and her association with the University of Ghana.
