Following the leak of a CCTV footage showing a man carrying a patient in his arms while several nurses stood by without offering assistance, Ghanaian preacher Prophet Kofi Oduro has shared his thoughts on the incident.
The footage, dated August 17, 2025, has sparked outrage on social media, with netizens criticising the conduct of the medical staff involved.
Prophet Kofi Oduro, the General Overseer of Alabaster International Ministries, has expressed disappointment while addressing his congregation.
According to him, many healthcare professionals in Ghana have become “heartless” and appear to have lost their sense of compassion and humanity.
“We have a country where nurses are so wicked and negligent. There will be someone dying, and they will ignore and be on their phones. Stupid people who refuse to think.
“You will see them in uniforms roaming around like prostitutes. Most of you nurses and doctors are so heartless,” he said.
He also recounted a personal experience, recounting the neglect he witnessed in some hospitals.
“I went to Tema General Hospital, and a patient fell from a bed. He slept on the floor for 40 minutes. I also went to Achimota hospital, and there were five nurses with one doctor on the phone; meanwhile, a patient was dying,” he added.
