Sean Kingston Gets 3-Year Prison Sentence in Fraud Scheme
The singer apologised to the court before being sentenced and said he’d learned from his actions, according to US media.
His mother, Janice Turner, was sentenced in July to five years in prison.
The Jamaican-American rapper, who is also known for hits like Fire Burning, Take You There and Eenie Meenie, which featured singer Justin Bieber, was arrested in 2024 in California, where he was set to perform at an Army training base in the Mojave Desert.

Kwame Ratty was born and raised in Koforidua, Eastern Region. Seven arrested over fuel tanker hijack at Teacher Mante, police recover 2 tankers and pumping machine
The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested seven people in connection with the armed hijacking of a fuel tanker loaded with 5,400 litres of fuel at Teacher Mante near Suhum in the Eastern Region.
Police also recovered two tankers, a pumping machine, and a car during the operation.
A police statement issued on August 11, 2025, said the incident happened on August 6 when the suspects, travelling in a green pickup truck, intercepted the tanker with registration number GT 2493-20.

Four people, including three women and a one-year-old girl, lost their lives on Thursday afternoon when a fuel tanker ploughed into traders and shoppers at the Asukawkaw market in the Krachi East Municipality of the Oti Region.
According to eyewitness accounts, the tragedy occurred after the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, ramming into the busy market and causing chaos. Fourteen others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
Assembly Member for the Asukawkaw Electoral Area, Mark Oduro, described the incident as a “dark day” for the community, adding that the victims were engaged in their regular market activities when disaster struck.

Ruth Szymankiewicz, who had an eating disorder, died after being left alone at a mental health hospital in Berkshire in February 2022.
She had been placed under strict one-to-one supervision after she self-harmed 10 days before her death at Huntercombe Hospital, in Taplow.
On February 12, 2022, the member of staff responsible for watching her – a man then known as Ebo Acheampong – failed to maintain the constant supervision plan, Buckinghamshire coroner’s court was told.
It later emerged that Mr Acheampong had been using false identity documents and was hired by the hospital under a false name.
