DVLA: Kuntunse vehicle testing station closed by private owner

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has confirmed the closure of the Private Vehicle Testing Station (PVTS) at Kuntunse in the Greater Accra Region.

In a notice, the Authority said the shutdown took effect on 1 December 2025 and advised clients to access services at other PVTS centres within Accra.

The DVLA dismissed reports claiming the closure was due to an eviction by an expatriate landlord over alleged non-payment of rent and utility bills spanning 17 years.

According to the Authority, a private individual who owns and operates the facility decided to halt operations. The DVLA urged the public to disregard what it described as misleading media reports surrounding the closure.

Earlier, some media outlets had reported that the DVLA was evicted by an expatriate landlord after allegedly failing to pay rent and utility bills for 17 years.
