Kufuor laments being sidelined by NPP

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has voiced strong concerns about his exclusion from key activities within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), expressing disappointment over what he described as being sidelined by his own party.

“I don’t understand why my own party, the NPP, has sidelined me,” the former president stated during a courtesy call by flagbearer hopeful Bryan Acheampong.

The Government of Ghana’s efforts to haul in former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, to account for his stewardship in the Nana Akufo-Addo-led administration, have received a boost following indications by sources at the US Department of Justice and FBI that the pursuit cannot amount to a witch-hunt.Sources at the US Embassy in Accra have told Myjoyonline.com that the principal federal law enforcement agency has satisfied itself that what Ken Ofori-Atta is being requested to respond to in Ghana is legitimate and has nothing to do with witch-hunting.

Foreign nationals in the United States who claim persecution or political witch-hunting by their home governments may seek legal protection through various mechanisms under U.S. immigration law and international human rights obligations.

After a crunch security meeting, which had representatives from Obomeng palace in attendace, the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly has resolved to demolish a popular drug haven in Nkawkaw called Boboshanti spot.

The decision follows the recent murder of a young guy popularly known as ONE TOSKA, which brought the number of persons who have been gruesomely killed since the inception of the spot to 8.

MCE, Hon Tamimu Halidu says initially they were contemplating on the legalities involved in demolishing structures of such sort. But after going through the Assembly’s by laws, they realized that once the said structure poses a threat to security, the Assembly has the authority to demolish it within 24 hours and so the assembly will take an action within the week.

The Deputy National Coordinator of the Feed Ghana Program, in charge of Institutional Farming, Hon. Gordon Asubonteng, has urged farmers nationwide to form associations and organizations to qualify as beneficiaries of the Feed Ghana initiative.

During his appearance on the GIFTs FM Morning Show, hosted by Kwaku Mensah Abrampa, Hon. Gordon Asubonteng highlighted that a key focus of discussions with agricultural officers regarding the implementation of the Feed Ghana Program is engaging farmers to form associations or Farmer-Based Organizations (FBOs) based on their crops.

He said this strategy aims to ensure they fully reap the benefits of the packages within the Feed Ghana initiative, thereby enhancing agriculture across the nation. He emphasized that the era of contacting farmers individually to distribute farm inputs has ended under this NDC administration, as such practices previously incurred costs for the country because some individuals would collect agro inputs and later sell them, a practice that must cease.
