Police arrest five suspects impersonating NAIMOS officials

Police in the Eastern South Region have arrested five individuals for allegedly posing as operatives of the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Squad (NAIMOS) and extorting money from some miners.

The suspects were taken into custody on Friday, January 2, after a complaint at Akwadum in the Abuakwa South District.

The police in a press statement dated January 3, 2026 said the suspects, Moses Tapiam, 43, Christopher Amakor, 29, Casimir Nunekpeku, 29, Wisdom Miwonuko, 35, and Paul Agbanu, 53, were dressed in security uniforms and claimed to be NAIMOS officials from Accra.

Tema Oil Refinery procures ‘fresh’ vehicles to enhance operations of refinery

The management of Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) has procured and handed over fresh operational vehicles for the refinery.

The new vehicles are to significantly enhance and strengthen the operational efficiency of the refinery.

They comprise eight brand new Mitsubishi pickups, three Toyota Coaster buses, two industrial forklifts and other essential vehicles to support the day-to-day activities of the refinery.
