The 27-year-old right-back arrives as a free agent after parting ways with Ascoli Calcio following the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.
Adjapong’s arrival marks a significant reinforcement for the Red-Blues as they look to bolster their backline for the new campaign.
With a wealth of experience in the Italian football system, including stints with top-flight side Sassuolo and other clubs like Reggina, Lecce, and Modena, the versatile defender brings both quality and leadership to the Stadio Alfredo Viviani.
“Potenza Calcio announces that it has acquired the rights to the sporting performances of the 1998-born footballer Claud Adjapong until June 30, 2027. A warm welcome to Claud in the red and blue jersey!” the club wrote on their official website.
Born in Modena to Ghanaian parents, Adjapong represented Italy at U19, U20, and U21 levels.
However, he remains eligible to switch allegiance and represent Ghana at the senior international level – a decision that could be explored as he rediscovers his best form with Potenza.
This move offers Adjapong a fresh opportunity to reignite his career, with regular playing time and a key role likely under the new project at Potenza.
