A third suspect linked to the murder of 38-year-old Immigration Officer, Stephen King Amoah, has reportedly passed away after a short illness.
The development was confirmed to EASTERN FM 105.1 MHZ by the deceased’s brother, Kwasi Amoako, who disclosed that he received the information from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officer assigned to the case.
“Yesterday we went to court and I can confirm that the third suspect has passed on. I was informed by the Police CID handling the case. We thank God that our brother has started seeking justice for himself,” Mr. Amoako stated.
The reported death of the suspect introduces a new dimension to the ongoing case, which has drawn significant public interest due to the gruesome killing of the immigration officer. The family of the late Amoah has consistently called for a thorough and expedited investigation to ensure justice is served.
The Police are yet to issue an official statement regarding the reported death.
Mr. Amoah, aged 38, was declared missing on July 3, 2025, after leaving home to meet a friend at Ashongman Estate. His charred remains were later discovered on July 9, 2025, at Abuom Junction near Kwabenya, prompting an extensive manhunt and an intensive investigation by security agencies.
