First Lady Lordina Dramani Mahama has called on the global community to work together to safeguard children and provide opportunities for their growth and well-being.
She made the appeal during a special prayer service dedicated to peace and children, held on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly in New York on Monday, September 22.

Mrs. Mahama highlighted the importance of strong leadership and international cooperation in tackling the struggles faced by vulnerable children worldwide. According to her, through prayer, unity, and purposeful leadership, the world can become a safer place where every child is valued and empowered to reach their full potential.

In her prayer, the First Lady remembered orphans and underprivileged children in Ghana and beyond, asking for divine provision, care, and guidance for them. She also sought blessings for caregivers and child advocates working tirelessly to support young lives.
Mrs. Mahama underscored that all children deserve the chance to live with dignity, access quality education, and enjoy a childhood free from fear, neglect, and deprivation.
