Eastern Regional Minister Commends Pentecost SHS Staff at 25th Anniversary

Pentecost Senior High School in Koforidua has celebrated its 25th Anniversary with a call for parental involvement in education and an appeal for improved infrastructure to enhance teaching and learning.

The Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, in delivering her speech  lauded the staff for their dedication to excellence and integrity.

“ I also commend the staff and administration for their hard work and employ them to uphold the excellent standards that make the school stand out.”

She also urged both managers of the school and parents to take greater responsibility for the upbringing of their children in order to enhance academic performance. 

“ I urge the managers of the school to maintain the status and even better it.  Apostle Chair, let me also urge parents and guardians to be very responsible towards the upkeep of their children in school to serve as a motivation to improve learning outcomes.”

She noted that the school’s impact is widely felt, as many of its graduates continue to contribute meaningfully to society.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr Peter Attah Gyamfi also appealed to stakeholders , institutions and individuals to support the institution with additional infrastructure, to improve teaching and learning conditions.

He explained they these developmental projects  are expected to improve conditions at PENSEC in the coming years. They include the construction of a new boys’ dormitory by the Church of Pentecost to relieve overcrowding, and new staff and headmaster bungalows to enhance discipline and ease teacher strain. 

“The following news, if met, we believe, will add to PENSEC’s story to 

make it more beautiful when it is told five years from now.”

Plans also involve building a 3,000-capacity assembly hall, expanding facilities with a gastronomy block, and installing a power generator. The speaker concludes by emphasizing the importance of commemorating great names in history.
