Ghanaian music icon Kwabena Kwabena is set to take his legendary hit song Aso to audiences worldwide as he launches a major global tour marking the song’s 20th anniversary.
The tour will span several continents, promising fans an unforgettable celebration of the soulful rhythms and meaningful lyrics that have made Aso a timeless classic over the past two decades.
The announcement came during the official launch of “Aso @ 20” at Croks Lounge in Osu, Accra, on Friday, July 18. This event kicks off a year-long commemoration of Kwabena Kwabena’s remarkable career and enduring impact on the music industry.
Known for his soulful voice and innovative sound, Kwabena Kwabena has captivated audiences for years. Aso remains one of his most beloved songs, and the upcoming tour will celebrate his musical legacy and influence on fans worldwide.
The world tour will take Kwabena Kwabena across Africa, Europe, North America, and Australia. Fans can also look forward to a special anniversary remix of Aso, featuring collaborations with some of Ghana’s top established and emerging artists.
In addition to the classic Aso, the tour will showcase new renditions and fan favorites from Kwabena Kwabena’s extensive catalog.
At the launch event, Kwabena Kwabena expressed deep gratitude for the unwavering support from his fans over the years.
“It’s a great honor to see Aso still resonate after 20 years, inspiring a new generation of artists and listeners alike. I’m truly overwhelmed and thankful for the love I’ve received,” he said.
Originally released in 2004 as part of his debut album, Aso propelled Kwabena Kwabena into the spotlight alongside other hits like Kyere Me and Trodom, cementing his status as one of Ghana’s most soulful voices.
Beyond music, Kwabena Kwabena is known for his philanthropic efforts through the Kwabena Kwabena Save a Life Foundation, which supports health and wellness initiatives across Ghana.
His career has earned him numerous accolades, including awards for Best Vocal Performance and Best Songwriter.
The launch event was attended by key industry figures such as Fred Kyei Mensah (Fredyma), Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), Silva Lady, Harglah, Papa Bills, Sally Mann, Kwesi Ernest, AJ Poundz, Lexis Bill, Praye Tietia, and Epixode.
