An officer of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) was reportedly killed and another injured in an armed attack at the Gbintri inland checkpoint in the East Mamprusi Municipality of the North East Region on Friday, October 3, 2025. The recent communal clash in Gbiniyiri and surrounding communities in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of the Savannah Region has forced the closure of 44 out of 150 schools.
