The Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Executive, Honorable Dominic Adoma Ameyaw, on Friday, July 4, 2025, spearheaded a cleanup exercise to dredge the congested gutters leading to Paamu, a river in Dormaa Ahenkro, with the aim of ensuring clean water and an efficient drainage system to prevent flooding and promote a sanitary environment.
According to the MCE, he is resolute in providing the requisite support to guarantee the successful execution of the sanitation campaign initiated by the Manhene of Dormaa Traditional Council and the President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, Osagyefo Oseadeayo Dr. Agyemang Badu II, striving to render Dormaa Ahenkro clean and free from refuse.
He emphasizes that the cleanup exercise is not merely a fleeting endeavor but a sustained effort, with the assembly, relevant stakeholders, and the entire populace of Dormaa to ameliorate the sanitation conditions in and around Dormaa Ahenkro. He urges residents to refrain from littering in order to improve sanitation.
With sanitation designated as one of the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for President Mahama’s Municipal, Metropolitan, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), the Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Executive implored all residents within the Dormaa Traditional Council and the entire nation to desist from discarding polythene bags, rubber materials, and sachets on the ground. He emphasized that such materials hardly decompose, urging everyone to progressively cleanse their surroundings to enhance sanitation universally.
Several participants conveyed gratitude towards the Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Executive and the entire staff of the assembly, as well as the security officers and other service workers, for their unwavering commitment to the initiative. They encouraged the residents of Dormaa Ahenkro to engage wholeheartedly in such exercises to guarantee a comprehensive effort in fulfilling the sanitation objectives for which the program is organized on a monthly basis.
