Eastern FM brings Easter joy to Koforidua with Food Drive

To commemorate the Easter festivities, Eastern FM, held its EasterFest food drive on Thursday at Koforidua Central.

The event on the theme ‘Together, we can build a stronger, more caring community.”, was held on Thursday 17th April 2025 at Koforidua Central in front of the Gabson Pharmacy and later donations were made to the Koforidua Central inmates and Agartha market police inmates.

Jerry John Tei – a presenter and one of the organisers speaking on behalf of Eastern FM emphasised the radio station’s unwavering commitment to giving back to society.

“Easter is a time for reflection and expressing gratitude,” Mr. Jerry stated.

“Through Easter Joy Basket, we aimed to share the blessings of the season with those in need within the Koforidua community”, Mr. Jerry said.

The food drive specifically targeted 300 people and inmates of two police cells in Koforidua (Central Police Station and Agartha Market).

Together, we can build a stronger, more caring community.”

The event was supported by Satellite Zone, Coca Cola, Donewell Insurance, Food Box, International Christian Cooperative Ministries, Antwi Phones, Kaf Ice & Eastern Entertainment Group…

Mr Owusu Mensah the branch of Donewell Insurance – Koforidua , in a phone conversation spoke about his motivations for joining Eastern FM’s efforts.

“Donewell shares the Eastern FM’s commitment to social responsibility,” Mr Owusu remarked .

“Easter Joy Basket allowed us to give back to the communities where we operate, especially Koforidua, which has embraced our policies”.

‘Together, we can build a stronger, more caring community.” Eastern FM’s served as a day of compassion and community engagement.

Through collaborative efforts, the event brought the joy of Easter Joy Basket to those in need and fostered a spirit of giving back in Koforidua.
