The Member of Parliament for New Juaben South – Hon. Michael Okyere Baafi has hosted the 2025 Christmas Shop for Free initiative at the Methodist AstroTurf in Betom, Koforidua, as part of efforts to support elderly residents in the constituency ahead of the Christmas festivities.
The event brought together hundreds of senior citizens aged 65 years and above, who were given essential food items and household supplies at no cost. The initiative was designed to ease the economic burden on the elderly, uphold their dignity, and spread festive cheer within the constituency.

Beyond the shopping exercise, beneficiaries also enjoyed free health screenings as well as cosmetology services such as hairdressing, manicure, and pedicure. These additional services contributed to making the occasion a comprehensive day of care, wellness, and celebration for the elderly.
Addressing participants, the MP reaffirmed a strong commitment to inclusive development and social protection, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that senior citizens and vulnerable groups are not left behind, particularly during the festive season.

The MP also expressed gratitude to the organizing team, volunteers, sponsors, and partner institutions whose contributions ensured the success of the initiative.
The event ended on a joyful note, with the MP extending Christmas goodwill and best wishes to residents of New Juaben South and the wider Eastern Region.
