Nigerian lawmaker Ned Nwoko has responded to domestic violence allegations made by his wife, actress Regina Daniels, by claiming her struggles with drug and alcohol addiction are at the heart of their marital issues.
Daniels, who married Nwoko in 2019 and shares two children with him, alleged in a viral video that she had suffered physical abuse and could no longer endure the relationship.
In a statement posted on his X account, Nwoko described Daniels’s behavior as erratic and violent, blaming her addiction for recent outbursts, including assaults on staff and property damage. He insisted that none of his other wives had ever accused him of violence and claimed Daniels refused to continue her rehabilitation program.
Nwoko further alleged that Daniels threatened their resident nurse and accused her brother, Sammy West, of being her drug supplier. Sammy West, in turn, accused Nwoko of assaulting Daniels and sending thugs to intimidate her family.
The controversy follows a recent prank video Daniels posted on Instagram featuring Nwoko, which appeared to irritate him despite his later playful comment. As of now, Daniels has not publicly responded to Nwoko’s claims.
