Let’s fix our ‘Tattered ‘Flag’ before electing someone as it’s ‘Bearer’ – Former Bono East Regional Minister makes bold proposals to NPP

Immediate past Bono East Regional Minister Hon. Kwasi Adu-Gyan has added his voice to the calls for the New Patriotic Party to concentrate on building a robust and united party with strong leadership from the grassroots to the top before electing a Flagbearer; as he believes failure to do this may not help whoever they present as Candidate for 2028 to become a President.

It is in this spirit that he has officially submitted some bold proposals to the NPP Elections Review Committee to be considered in the party’s upcoming Annual Delegates Conference scheduled for Saturday, 19th July, 2025 as part of key constitutional amendments.

Addressing the Media in Techiman the Bono East Regional capital, Mr. Adu-Gyan also a former Brong/Ahafo Regional NPP Chairman and Parliamentary Candidate for Kintampo South Constituency proposed that the Constitution be amended to rightly expand the membership of the Electoral College to include all current and past executives, officers and appointees who have served since 1992 both home and diaspora and owes allegiance to the party. He also proposes that elections of executives or officers of the party from constituency, regional, national, parliamentary and presidential should be held in the various constituencies within the country at a scheduled Special Constituency Annual Delegates Conference at the same time on the same day, the same venue and at the same cost, having held the polling station and the electoral area coordinators elections earlier with the hope that all things being equal a credible Electoral Voters Register could be compiled within a period of three (3) months to make it possible to meet NEC’s schedule of 6th December 2025 to hold an annual constituency delegates conference.
